QC's BestLink College of the Philippines is now fully solarized!
Sept. 5, 2023, saw the official turn over of the 202 Kwp Gridtied Photovoltaic (PV) System to BestLink College MV Campus by Mega Solar PH making Bestlink the first school in QC installed with solar panels and support batteries.
This is made possible by the partnership between BestLink and Mega Solar PH, the pioneering force in the solar energy sector.
BestLink owner Mrs. Mary Vicente and Mega Solar PH CEO Benjamin L. Kahulugan III share the vision of a cleaner and brighter future.
"Solar energy is not just a source of power; it's a beacon of sustainability and environmental responsibility. This installation represents our commitment to a cleaner, greener future, " said Mr. Kahulugan.
He emphasized the profound significance of solar energy in today's world. He stated, "Solar energy is a clean, renewable, and abundant source of power. By harnessing the energy of the sun, we reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and decrease harmful greenhouse gas emissions. It is a step towards mitigating climate change, ensuring energy security, and creating a sustainable future for generations to come."
He further emphasized the environmental impact of the installation, noting that each kilowatt-peak (kwp) of solar panel power is equivalent to planting 40 trees or removing eight cars from the road.
For her part, Mrs. Vicente, expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the strong partnership as Bestlink is the first college institution to be solarized in the Quezon City.
She highlighted the system's potential to benefit the college's 45,000 enrolled students, particularly those pursuing courses that require laboratory work. "This solar system will not only reduce our carbon footprint but also enhance the quality of education we provide," she stated.
The collaboration stands as a shining example of how solar energy can illuminate the path to a sustainable future, one educational institution at a time, as Mrs. Vicente intends to fully tap solar power for the learning institution, now with 4 campuses with 45,000-strong population, which she established 20 years ago.
To date, Bestlink is the only private educational institution founded in Quezon that offers free tuition -- students pay certain miscelleanous fee only every semester.
Among the courses offered are BS Information Technology, BS Hospitality Management, BS Office Administration, BS Business Administration, BS Criminology, Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Secondary Education, and BS Computer Engineering.
It also offers the K to 12 Program for free.
Being "committed to provide and promote quality education, with a unique, modern and researched-based curriculum with delivery systems geared towards excellence,” Bestlink also offers remarkable experiences that the students will never forget. Such is harnessing the solar energy for their education.
Thus, the partnership is made more meaningful.
Mega Solar PH, a pioneering force in the solar energy sector, is leading the way in the country's transition towards a greener and more sustainable energy landscape, is more than happy to serve the school.
Kahulugan said that this serves as a testament to the long-term benefits of solar energy not only for BestLink College but also for the environment at large.
