Lanson Place spreads cheers for CNY 2025

Lanson Place Mall of Asia is committed to preserving and sharing authentic cultural experiences at the City of Manila's Seaside. The hotel spearheaded the celebration of the Lunar New Year with traditional activities promoting cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.

First, there was the eye-dotting ceremony for the lion at the porte cochere by hotel executives Peggy Angeles, Executive Vice President of SM Hotels and Conventions Corp.; Nils Rothbarth, General Manager of Lanson Place Mall of Asia, Manila; and Angelica Vicencio, Director of Sales Lanson Place Mall of Asia, Manila. This act symbolizes the awakening of the lion and the beginning of the new year.

Following this ceremonial rite, the dynamic rhythms of a traditional Lion and Dragon Dance performed by the Golden Lion Youth Club, captivated guests and onlookers, filling the atmosphere with joy and excitement as the performers bring the legendary creatures to life. Together, these vibrant traditions intertwine to create an unforgettable experience, welcoming the New Year with an abundance of good fortune and cultural richness.

An essential part of Chinise New Year celebrations, the dance symbolizes power, strength, and good fortune. The energetic dance movements by skilled artists brought excitement and joy creating an atmosphere of positivity and optimism for the coming year.

Refreshments followed at Madeleine High Tea while astrologer Jill Andrea Gepilano discussed her predictions for each Chinese Zodiac sign for the Year of the Wood Snake.


Elevating the festive ambiance, the lunch buffet at Cyan Modern Kitchen followed for a truly memorable Lunar New Year culinary experience. Media and guests indulged in an exquisite array of classic Chinese dishes, meticulously prepared to celebrate the auspicious occasion.

A highlight of the buffet is the traditional prosperity toss, the Yee Sang Toss, an engaging and lively culinary ritual that invites diners to participate in the art of tossing a vibrant raw fish salad, symbolizing wealth and good fortune.
