VP for Human Resources and Organizational Development Ms. Charmagne Adonis, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA General Manager Ms. Ann Olalo, and SM Hotels & Conventions Corp. Asst. VP for Public Relations Ms. Nian Rigor.
Park Inn by
Radisson North EDSA, with the full support of Radisson Hotel Group and its
owning company, Radisson Hotel Group Corp. (SMHCC), aims to create lasting,
positive change by giving People Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) the tools to build
better futures for themselves and their families.
The Basic Housekeeping Skills Training for PDLs program,
launched in October 2024, at the Quezon City Jail Female Dormitory, aligns with
Quezon City government's No Woman Left Behind initiative, aims to
empower women and equip them with the skills needed to rebuild their lives.
In partnership with the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, which provided the global Housekeeping Curriculum, Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA ensures that the training adheres to international hospitality standards. To support hands-on learning, a Park Inn Standard Room was constructed within the Quezon City Jail Female Dormitory, allowing trainees to practice and apply their skills in a real-life setting. The Quezon City Skills and Livelihood Foundation, through a TESDA-certified trainer, conducts the training.
One of the program’s participants, Ms. Basa, regained her freedom and, in February 2025, was provided an employment opportunity. The hotel officially celebrated this momentous occasion on February 13, led by no less than Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, together with Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA and SMHCC Executives, Multi-Access Cooperative, and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
This
initiative is a testament to the power of collaboration and the impact of
providing opportunities for rehabilitation and empowerment. Through continued
efforts, Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA and its partners remain committed to
making a meaningful difference through the newly-found competence of these
women.
