Fairy tales do come true for Kris and Aljur

Fairy tales can come true, it can happen to you
If you're young at heart
For it's hard, you will find, to be narrow of mind
If you're young at heart

You can go to extremes with impossible schemes
You can laugh when your dreams fall apart at the seams
And life gets more exciting with each passing day
And love is either in your heart or on it's way

So goes the song of Young at Heart by no less than the legendary crooner Frank Sinatra.
This song immediately comes to my mind as I watched the pilot episode of Prinsesa ng Buhay ko on a rainy Monday evening.

After their memorable performances in Coffee Prince, Kris Bernal and Aljur Abrenica reignite their onscreen tandem in Prinsesa Ng Buhay Ko which is the first program shot in full HD using DLSR cameras. It replaced Binoy Henyo beginning September 23 before 24 Oras.

Prinsesa Ng Buhay Ko’s storyline, as in fairy tales, aptly aims to inspire viewers to always have a positive outlook in life, and believe that with hard work and determination dreams can come true.
Princess (Kris) is a hardworking young woman who was orphaned at a young age. Despite being raised in a foster home, Princess is strong-willed who possesses a big heart and an independent spirit.
In the orphanage, Princess will meet Nick, who often becomes the subject of bullying among the kids. Princess will become Nick’s defender from these bullies and eventually, they will become close friends.
Princess and Nick’s friendship ends when Nick’s father Roberto arrives to take him away. Nick is left with no choice but to go with Roberto after learning that his mother Tess abandoned him completely and sold him to his father.

After many years, Princess left the orphanage to pursue her dreams and found vending in a flea market as her way of living. One day, she witnesses a crime and tries to save a man from being kidnapped.
The young man he saved is Luis, the  son of a rich man named Roberto Grande.
Because of her heroic act, Princess’ catches the attention of Luis and also the public, the media and even the TV networks. She will soon become very popular and Princess is now living the charmed life she always dreamed of.

Things get complicated when Nick and Princess’ paths cross again. Princess discovers that Nick is her long lost friend in the orphanage and  is Luis’ stepbrother. How will this revelation affect Princess’ relationship with the two brothers? Will Nick and Princess take their friendship to the next level or will Nick give way to his brother Luis? Who will win Princess’ heart in the end? Luis or Nick?

Introducing in this program is newest Kapuso Renz Fernandez who will play the role of Luis. Completing the stellar cast of this comedy-light drama series are LJ Reyes as Kate, Nick’s scheming ex-girlfriend; Ms. Carmi Martin as Eliza, Luis’ manipulative mother; Emilio Garcia as Roberto, Nick’s real father; Martoni Fernandez as Tess, Nick’s mother; Marco Alcaraz as Waldo, Princess’ brother; Debraliz as Mother Superior; Ping Medina as Steve, Nick’s bestfriend; Jan Manual as Phil, Princess’ gay friend; Vincent Magbanua as Vicvic, a street vendor who has a crush on Princess; Lian Paz as Violet Waldo’s girlfriend.
One of the most "kilig" loveteams on the boob tube since their Starstruck days Kris, and Aljur have the chemistry that connects them and make them lovable to the viewers. And Kris is thankful that all these years, their loyal fans continue to support them.

Seven years in the business and now at 24, Kris admits she has now more control of her life. "Now, I have a say in everything. Even in my roles, I can now express my views and discuss with my director or other people concerned. I am now also more open with my personal life," Kris said in the interview during the press conference of her new TV series.

After a day's hardwork, be entertained by Prinsesa ng Buhay ko with a reel drama and comedy that Aljur and Kris tandem have been loved and known for. Fairy tales do come true, after all.
