Regala Skycity Hotel played the perfect host during the four-day visit of the Philippine media to Hong Kong together with celebrity influencer Ashley Ortega.
Located at Lantau Island, it's just a 10-minute shuttle ride from Hong Kong International Airport (HKTA). One wouldn't miss the hotel even if he or she's a first-timer in HK. That's because it has its own service counter at the airport to assist him. Moreover, the hotel provides free shuttle service to and from the airport for his utmost convenience.
And so we were back in this bubbly, touristy place for the first time after the three-year travel restrictions due to the global pandemic.
The hotel's first-class shuttle service fetched us from HKTA. Once settled at our well-appointed rooms, Regala welcomed us with a sumptuous lunch at Vivace, the hotel's famed Mediterranean restaurant with its amiable Assistant Marketing Communication Manager Ivan Tso joining us.
REJOICE AT REGALA
Regala is the newest airport hotel at HKTA and the brand-new baby of Regal Hotels International (RHI). Barely a year in operation, Regala has already clinched several awards, including “Best Airport Hotel” by TTG Asia Travel Awards (2023), “Best New Hotel” by TTG China Travel Awards (2023), and Best Hotel Restaurant Interior (Hong Kong) by International Property Media Ltd in 2023 (for Vivace). As a new brand, Regala focuses on lifestyle, wellness, and sustainability. The trendy hotel is directly connected to Asia World-Expo and 11 SKIES with barely a two-minute walk via the enclosed footbridge. Asia World-Expo is a huge exhibition hall for various global events, products, and launches while 11 SKIES is touted to be the biggest mall to carry high-end products and services in this part of the Lantau island which is set to open on April 2024.
With a five-minute drive to Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Link, the hotel provides unrivaled connectivity to Macau and major cities in the Mainland.

The massive Regala structure has 1,208 non-smoking guestrooms including 90 suites, where our group was billeted. Aside from Vivace, its two other trendsetting restaurants and bars are The Jade and Petra. Regala also boasts of over 2,800 sqm meeting spaces including the highly-impressive Grand Ballroom which can accommodate a maximum of 1,250 guests and 2 Banquet Halls.
It may sound cliché but the saying, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, is always
true, especially after a quite tedious and challenging trip from the Philippines
to Hong Kong. Thus, for this entry, I would like to pay tribute to Regala’s
three trendsetting and stylish restaurants which made
sure we were well-fed and nourished during our stay.

VIVACE: MEDITERRANEAN FOOD AT ITS BEST
Regala made sure to kick off our wonderful adventure by making our tummy happy first -- not only with a hearty lunch -- but also by filling our senses and sight with the lively mixed colors and interesting structures and designs of Vivace. No wonder it has won the Best Hotel Restaurant Interior (Hong Kong) by International Property Media Ltd 2023.
Vivace served us a Thanksgiving Special menu of Roasted Turkey Crown as the main dish. Our group was the first to be served and to have tasted this special offering for the month of November. We also feasted on semi-buffet tapas, fresh fruits and vegetable salad, appetizers, soup, and dessert.
And the bonus? We had some banter with the head chef and staff who were mostly Filipinos!

THE JADE: THE FINEST CHINESE CUISINE
The finest selection of Chinese food for our Reception Dinner at The Jade was made possible by Hotel Manager Karl Sun, who personally selected the best among the best of a 7-course dinner composed of appetizers down to dessert, among them: Deep-fried crab meatballs in Chiu Chow Style, Spicy Dried Beef, Wok-Seared Grouper Fillet with Seawood, Smoked Crispy Chicken in Supreme Tea Leaves, Fried Rice with Conpoy, Shrimp, Scallop, and Barbecue Pork, and Glutinous Dumpling in sweet ginger soup.
My personal favorites were the served soup, Braised Alaska Crab Meat with Potato Puree Broth, and the main dish, Braised Sea Cucumber with Hairy Crab Roe and Bean Curd. Oh, they tasted so heavenly!
Most importantly, he honored us with his presence together with the equally hardworking and amiable Regala Skycity General Manager Renee Kim. They both joined us over the hearty dinner and exciting conversation complete with table wine for that unforgettable dining experience -- in an exclusive dining space overlooking breathtaking sea views
At the heart of the dinner table were the specially curated sauces and condiments prepared by The Jade's Executive Chinese Chef. Kim said the chef not only specializes in Cantonese but also many regional Chinese cuisines. “We have dynamic dishes from Beijing, Shanghai, Sichuan province, and many more. People like to try food from different parts of the world here at The Jade. Dimsum is a good representation of Hong Kong,” she said.

PETRA: INTERNATIONAL CUISINE AT ITS BEST!

We had our daily buffet breakfast and our farewell dinner at Petra, before heading to our next destination, to Regal Hong Kong Hotel in Causeway Bay. The dinner was a delightful treat as well: another 7-course dinner composed of appetizers down to dessert with a choice of salmon or slow-cooked beef that truly melts in the mouth!
